| Back to my top 100 (or so) this week - but lots of meetings so not as many albums. A few movers in my list - not sure when Home's first has slipped down - better have another listen! And I tend to forget how good Meddle is until I listen to it again. For any of you that haven't heard them, give the first Starcastle album a go (Yes/ELP ish) and the Strawbs (Hero & Herione), for rockier stuff try Saigon Kick's first or the Pleasure Bombs
Ten Years After - Recorded Live Allman Brothers - Live At Filmore East Pink Floyd - Meddle ~39~ Extreme - Pornograffitti ~71~ Yes - Yes ~74~ Mostly Autumn - Glass Shadows ~75~ Starcastle - Starcastle ~84~ Touchstone - Wintercoast ~87~ Alannah Myles - Alannah Myles ~88~ Kingdom Come - Kingdom Come ~88~ Saigon Kick - Saigon Kick ~91~ Karnataka - Delicate Flame Of Desire ~92~ Whitesnake - 1987 ~93~ Lone Star - Firing On All Six ~93~ Strawbs - Hero And Heroine ~95~ Pleasure Bombs - Days Of Heaven ~99~ Emerson Lake And Palmer - Works Volume 2 ~109~ Aerosmith - Permanent Vacation ~120~ Rick Wakeman - The Six Wives Of Henry VIII ~122~ Home - Home ~130~ Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II ~150~ Aerosmith - Pump ~157~ Thunder - Laughing On Judgement Day ~200~

| Not sure how this happened, but I've been getting in the mood for Chantel's gig tonight by listening to a couple of Sabbath albums. Never Say Die & Heaven And Hell, always been my fave two Sabbath albums. Haven't played them for years, and they sounded great. | |

| I've listened to it twice today too. HHmmm. Sort of what I was expecting, but not quite! I was expecting it to be a lot rockier, but it's more indie-rock than classic rock to my mind.
When I heard nearly half of it for the first time on Sunday (live, at Progbury), I found it a lot to take in in one hit (partly cos I wasn't expecting a set of virtually all new material and partly because where i was the sound was a bit unbalanced). So it was hard to say what I thought (even when Bryan asked).
I have to say it's growing... I liked Deep In Borrowdale and Hold the Sun most, live. On the album it's still Deep In Borrowdale, but the title track sounds a lot better now too. I suspect that's familiarity in part. So I'll give it a couple of days and then listen again....

Peter Frampton: 'Fingerprints' totally instrumental and Grammy winner, ace.
Lee Ritenour: 'Six String Theory' which features BB King, George Benson, Slash, John Scofield, Steve Lukather, Vince Gill, Pat Martino, Mike Stern, Neal Schon, Robert Cray, Keb' Mo', Taj Majal, Jonny Lang, Joe Bonamassa, Andy McKee and Guthrie Govan to name but a few. Guitarnirvana!

I've wondered about getting the Chickenfoot album - is it actually any good? Did it live up to the hype? In fact, will I like it?
