| Dazed and confused! Totally unexpected as things were all set up for a great 2011. The new line up was amazing, the recent gigs fantastic and some promising new material....and of course the only recently announced gigs. Very saddened but best wishes to all the band members for future projects...will hopefully see some of you soon...

| Yes, it is very sad, but you never know what the future holds And at least it has been announced sooner rather than later. Here's to the future for all concerned H | |

| Yes - however you slice it, this is very sad and unwelcome news... On the other hand - as Helen rightly says - you never know what the future holds. I've already received word via the BS grapevine that at least one phoenix will be rising from the ashes sooner rather than later, so it has to be a good thing that all that talent is not going to waste! Rest assured that as soon as there is more news on that score, you'll be able to read it here - for the forum will continue for a while yet, to bring you all the news that's fit to bleat about what the ex-members are all up to... | |

| Yes, it's a sad day when a band as good as this decides to disband . After the gig at The Riga last March, and that stunning debut performance at CRF, I was looking forward to a big year for the band in 2011. It must have been a difficult, and very painful decision. With all the great writers and musicians involved in Breathing Space, it's good to know that there may well be a phoenix rising from the flames Hoping for the best that everything is going to be OK for the DVD release sometime soon. And that the BS You Tube channel remains, at least for a while. I would also like to say how much I've enjoyed being part of this forum. Its been a thriving forum, and a friendly and welcoming community too. Its good news that it will stay open for a while so that we can get all the latest news. I would like to wish all of the band all the luck in the world for the future. And to say thanks for all that great music. Steve | |

| OK so most people have facebook, and will know what has happened. But should it be copied to here just in case someone doesn't know what is going on? And thanks to everyone involved with the band on stage, back stage and in the crowd, for some great times, hopefully we'll see you all again soon. | |

Good call, Col - I've copied it across from the website, and made it a 'Global Announcement' so that it appears at the top of every sub-forum, as well as in the 'News' section. - ColinCamel wrote:

Amen to that! | |

| Disappointing news I have to say. The recent shows and particularly the new material gave us much to look forward to after an uncertain 2010 following Livvy's departure. All I can say is thanks to all members of Breathing Space for some great music and some great times. The band were always very welcoming when I came up with an idea for Autumn Leaves and helped me as much as possible to get them realised in the next issue. Thank you and hope to see what rises from the ashes soon.

| Gutted to hear the Breathing Space are no more. I have followed them since Iain's original solo album and have enjoyed the ride and the band's progression. Despite my reservations about the current singer I was still looking forwrad to a new album especially having heard a couple of mew songs live.
I await the developments that have been referred to with great interest.

| Seen Breathing Space with various line ups over the last few years and they never failed to impress! and the latest line-up I thought had so much potential the last gig at Fibbers all on top form, so well done to them for getting the band up and running following the changes last year, but good players and song writers they are, so I'm sure will be back to delight again in whatever ventures they decide. | |

| I endorse all the positive comments posted above and shall continue to wear my t-shirt with pride ! There's been some great songs to come out of you guys and I shall always trot out the tale of the Barnsley Lucorum gig 27/11/08 when there were, I think, eleven of us in the audience !
Cheers to you all ! | |

| Barnsley Lucorum was indeed one of THE best gigs they ever did... shame band, crew + barstaff outnumbered the audience, but had it not been that way I suspect the gig wouldn't have been what it was!
I believe there will more than one project eminating from the ashes though - we'll just have to waiyt and see!

| I was there-at Barnsley. We should get some t-shirts knocked up for that one. I think there were 11 of us in attendance (I just ran out of fingers when counting ). Paul Turner | |

| Thanks Dave, not only for putting the announcment on. But also for setting up running the forum I hope a pheonix does rise from the ashes, as it would be almost criminal to let this band become time honoured ghosts. And if something does occur, I hope they ask you to set up the forum | |

Paul Turner There has been more than one BS gig where there were only a few of us in the audience Paul, in the early days (and this happens to all bands, I might add). Does anyone remember The Vine in Leeds? Those of us who were there will never forget it - yuk. And despite everything it was a fab gig. H x

| Very very sad news. Although , as many did, I came to the Band via the Mostly Autumn connection trhey havve become a big part of my life in the last few years...the records, the fabulous gigs and the great friends...I guess we all have the former, will never forget the gigs and I m sure the friendships will endure. I`m not quite as a long timer as some of you - our first gig was in Ely (co headline with Touchstone) - wonderful night ..(Actually that was the first gigby anyone I ever properly photrographed and I think there was a free curry included wih the ticket!) ...Georgia, Katie and I wre spellbound. Many other memorable gigs...Lowden was special - seated with candles I think, CRF 2009 was a terrific little set, Southend was particularly special as our home gig and of course the very emotional Robin show for Livvy's farewell. And then...a stunning rebirth at Cambridge last August.....
Thank you all for the fabulous times, and hope to see you all again...(in a bar , maybe on a stage sometime soon?)
Very best wishes for the future
