As some of you may already be aware, Magenta vocalist Christina Booth is about to launch her first album under her own name. After being involved in a number of projects (Trippa, Magenta, Chimpan A, etc, etc), it's good to see her have the confidence to put her own name on the sleeve.
News of a release date for her album, Broken Lives & Bleeding Hearts, will apparently be with us very soon. What to expect? Well, like her other non-Magenta projects, this is not a prog album by any means. You can hear a sampler MP3 of clips from the album on her MySpace page, which you can find here:
...which reveals quite a diverse set of songs (and some superb performances, both by Christina and by the musicians involved).
There's also a 'proper' promo video for one of the songs, the slinky ballad Free My Soul, which you can see either via the MySpace link above, or via YouTube:
Can't wait for the album - what I've heard so far sounds fantastic!
I also note, from the list of musicians associated with the project, that a certain Mr John Mitchell will be sprinkling fairy dust on some of the material from his magic axe...

For anyone else who really enjoyed Christina's album, it looks like we're going to get to hear some of it live at the special 'An Evening with Magenta' show at Wath-Upon-Dearn on March 31st .
Be there!

I was there! Although I don't remember you being there Dave! Perhaps I just missed you.
Anyway, here's some of the best pics from the night - Cyan, ChimpanA, Fry Brothers, Christina and Magenta in that order - if you can work out the difference visually (OK, the Fry Brothers is easy enough, and Christina's got a different frock for the Magenta set!). http://www.tclh.co.uk/gigs/Magenta/12MarWath/hidef/hidef.htm
