At least there will be another world cup in 4 years. And as I have a bet on Germany to win the cup, I have a bit of consolation.

All a bit rubbish. Can't really say I'm very bothered but for what it's worth I'd put the b;ame far more on the team than the manager. He got them to the finals more quickly than anyone else has done and scoring more goals. So I can't really see how he's suddenly become crap in the space of a few weeks.

I think footballers should be taxed at a rate that is based upon their results - if they're rubbish the government (ie us) gets their money! Might help solve a problem.

I'm not particularly interested in football, but I do want to know if Paul The Octopus has picked Spain or Holland to win.
On BBC breakfast the presenter called him the "psychic octopus". That is unfair, as I reckon he studies the teams form, the skills of the various players, and the condition of the pitch before making his decsion.
I hope he picks Holland.

Smile

I don't want Spain to win, but there again, I don't want Netherlands to win either.

Only a couple of days until the new season. My team promoted to the premier league once again. I wonder if we can survive this time. I feel we have a stronger team this time than the previous two occasions and might have a bit of a chance. Chris Brunt is a class act with a magic left foot, and Graham Dorrans could prove to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. Chelsea away not the easiest of starts though.

I'm shocked and very disappointed by the panic decision to remove Roberto Di Matteo from his job this morning scratch . Even if the team does go back to the Championship once again, he should be given the chance to get the team back at the first attempt. I'm sure he would have done this.

That powder puff performance by Man Utd at Wolves last night was not helpful to the situation at the bottom of the table. West Ham have used their financial muscle to recruit two highly paid mercenaries, although I don't see Messrs Keane & Bridge adding anything whatsoever to their team. They may still find a way to wriggle out of it on the last day of the season. Possibly through the failings of other teams. And it remains to be seen whether the long ball tactics of park the bus merchants McLeish & McCarthy will be successful, lol.

A sad day for Albion fans.
